Set of 8 Antique Chippendale Style Dining Chairs 18th Century
This set of eight antique walnut dining chairs feature characteristics found in mid to late 1700s furniture practices including the urn-shaped back splat with accompanying hand carved center shell motif, peg (or dowel) frame joinery, flat head nails which attach the seats to the frames, and cabriole legs with "puddle feet" - all consistent with furniture making during the Chippendale period. The chairs seats have been reupholstered at some point and they were originally shipped from Michael Davis Antiques of London, England over 30 years ago. They are in good antique condition with a repair to the arm joint on host chair #1 and separation in two places to the arm joints on host chair #2 as shown in the photos. These are handsome chairs displaying the quality materials and time-tested craftsmanship of a bygone era!
Dimensions: 21.5"w x 23"d x 42.5"h | Seat Depth 17" | Seat Height 19"
