Born in Spartanburg SC, the late Curtis R. Harley attended Converse College and made her way to New York where she studied under August Cook for 10 years. She was a very active member in the Spartanburg arts community throughout her life. The Curtis R. Harley Art Gallery located at USC-Upstate is dedicated to her acknowledging her lifelong dedication and support of the arts!
